Local Market News

Posted on Wed, 18th May, 2011

The Council of Mortgage Lenders says mortgage lending has dropped, Rightmove says asking prices are the highest in three years and Zoopla says vendors are having to drop their asking prices. It’s easy to understand why people are confused over the housing market.

Jamie Taylor, The Property Shop, takes these statistics with a pinch of salt. “How many of the CML have been to Stourbridge?” He asks. “These statistics include London, which distorts them. If you want to know what’s happening locally ask a busy Agent.  I can tell you based on our statistics which come from sales in the local area that houses are selling, they just need to be priced correctly and marketed well”

Marathon Man Dan

Posted on Tue, 19th April, 2011

Our MD, Daniel Thomas, completed the London Marathon on the 17th April in blazing heat in a not too rubbish time of 5hrs 58minutes and 24 seconds - no record breaker but for a non-runner it is not a time to be ashamed of and more importantly he has so far raised over £2,000 for the National Autistic Society.  If you would like to offer your support you can still sponsor him at www.virginmoneygiving.com/thepropertyshop-marathonman

You'll have them queuing to the M1

Posted on Thu, 17th March, 2011

On the release of the Dudley, Stourbridge & Halesowen News earlier today, which included our Rent Assured advert, a lovely gentleman decided he would call us to tell us what a brilliant idea it was.  Did he have a property to rent? No - he just thought it was a very good idea and thought he'd let us know.  He was so convinced it was a brilliant idea that he told us we'd have clients queuing all the way to the M1 and judging from the number of genuine enquiries we've had today I think he may be right!

100% Mortgages Available for First Time Buyers!!  No Deposit Required!!

We are thrilled to announce the availability of 100% mortgages for first time buyers (subject to terms and conditions).  This means first time buyers no longer need a huge deposit to get their first footing on the property ladder.  Over the last couple of years first time buyers have struggled to purchase properties due to the huge deposits required, often as much as 10% of the purchase price.  This combined with the increase in house prices over the previous years meant many young buyers simply couldn't afford to buy their first home.  Even those with good stable jobs like teachers and nurses couldn't afford to buy even a modest home - but this is all changing with the new 100% loan to value mortgage we have available.  For more information or to book an appointment to speak to our financial advisor just call your local Property Shop office.
